This is not your ordinary Giant Sequoia.

It’s old-growth with an intriguing backstory.

Between 1865 and 1904, nearly every tree in Dillonwood Grove — a 1,540-acre grove in what is now Sequoia National Park — was felled. Of the grove's giant sequoias, only 100 were left standing. The land remained privately owned until a joint effort by Save the Redwoods League and the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund secured its protection for good.

The wood we use to build custom furniture and artwork comes from trees felled in Dillonwood Grove during those four decades. Their age is estimated between 1,500 and 3,000 years. The oldest known giant sequoia alive today is just over 3,200 years old.

We are humbled to be custodians of this material — a library of Earth's ecological record, written in wood. We invite you to share in it.
